Once a student has received their award notice from Texas Tech University, the loan certification will be completed by our office within 5-7 working days. At that time, the student borrower will go to the Loans by Web internet site at https://lbw.tgslc.org to complete the loan application process. The borrower will need to be sure and complete each step to receive the confirmation page. The confirmation page should be printed and kept for possible future reference.

Texas Tech University is participating in a PLUS loan process called Loans by Web. Parent borrowers must be pre-approved by their lender before Texas Tech University is able to certify PLUS loan eligibility. Since each lender may have a different process for obtaining a pre-approval, the parent borrower must contact the lender of their choice to complete the pre-approval process. If the parent does not have a PLUS lender, suggested lenders are available on our website under Parent PLUS Lender List. All parent PLUS Loan borrowers must complete this process each time a loan is certified for any period of enrollment.
After Texas Tech University receives the PLUS pre-approval from the parent’s lender and all other aid has been awarded to the student, our office will certify the PLUS loan eligibility. Once the student has received their award notice from Texas Tech University, the parent may go to the Loans by Web internet site at https://lbw.tgslc.org to complete the loan application process. The parent borrower will need to select “I am a parent borrower” and complete each step of the Loans by Web process, using parent information to receive the confirmation page. The confirmation page should be printed and kept for possible future reference.
